•Breast augmentation & ptosis correction is usually done under general anesthesia and its an ambulatory procedure. The surgery takes around three hours and after a prudent recovery time at the hospital you may go home. Patients are seen 24h after the surgery for control.
•You will be taking medication during the next five days to control pain and to prevent implant infection.
•You are not allowed to exercise or move your arms freely for around a week to avoid bleeding and hematoma (blood collection at the breast implant pocket).
•You will be ask to use a special brassiere during one month.
•You will have periodic appointments with your surgeon, he will personally change all dressings and will be informing you when to exercise, drive and go ahead with normal life.
•If you are coming from outside Colombia , remember you will first have an appointment to check your health is fine, to assure you do not have a contraindication for surgery , to get done some before surgery tests , to define breast implant type and size , surgical date , anesthesiologist appointment , and surgical fees.
•Please be aware that your medical history and present health will define if you are or not a candidate for surgery . Don’t forget to send the “FOREIGNER INFORMATION” document. This information is very important and will allow us to get an approximate idea of your present health and possible surgical indications.
•Not all patients with breast sagging are candidates for short scar procedures or accept a breast implant . You must discuss with your surgeon which alternative is best for you.
